Happy New Year!

It is twenty past 3 on new years eve afternoon and I thought i'd just get a quick post in! I hope you all have a fantastic, happy and healthy 2016!

I myself will not be making a resolution this year which I hardly ever keep. I am very glad to be rid of the heartache and horrible people of this past year and move on to making 2016 a great one for myself and my family!

How will you all be spending tonight?

We are going to family for food and games with the children... I doubt I will make it til 12, I'm sure ill be tucked up by then!

Christmas day is here!

Merry Christmas all... Just a quick post whilst i have a minute!

I have tried to prepare as much as possible in advance this year as im cooking for the family and i wanted to have the morning free for playing with toys... So far successful!

Here's a few things i have baked

Slow cooker fudge...

Absoloutely gorge and i dont even like fudge normally. 

Clementine and walnut mince pies

Shortbread

Cookies for santa and gingersnaps!

And then theres the mahoosive christmas dinner still on its way... Turkey is resting and the gammon is just about cooked! Now i must go and play with the kiddies. Merry Christmas everyone 🎅🏼😍

Getting organised for christmas festivities!

I have alot of family coming over christmas and we are visiting too so i wanted to make as much home made biscuits etc as i could but so i have more time to do the other things on my loooong list too!!

Today i have made gingersnap, shortbread and sant's cookie dough and flattened them all out and double clinged them and put in the freezer!  When i want them i just need to defrost the day before and cut out as i need it in shapes or just normal rounds! I'd read about freezing the dough's ahead and i have tried it with gingerbread before and it was fine :) 

So that's 3 things ticked off my list, i still need to make some chocolate truffles, mince pies and a buche de noel for tue non christmas pud lovers! And i mistn't forget the christmas dinner... I'm cooking for 9 of us this year 😁 I hope i get some bubbles from santa as i think i will be needing them. Keep you're eyes peeled for pics!

Gingerbread house building 🎄

This post is solely dedicated to the christmas task that is... Concstructing a gingerbread house!

Seeing as this was our first year of ever giving it a go i purchased us a kit in asda.  It had ready made gingerbread pieces and royal icing (which i have never used yet... Well until now), and plenty of sweets!

The first part was the easy part although we did have one landslide when the roof was on but we managed to save it in time!!

Our icing skills need some perfection but hey it was our first attempt! 

 Next year will be the real test, i think itll take. A year to plan a spectacular house!!

Today is the first time in a very long time that i have actually baked cupcakes, they are without a doubt my favourite and the most versatile treat to bake!

Christmas is nearly here so i have baked a christmas version!
